and what a boy!
i'm glad to announce the latest addition to our family:
Jacob LeGrand Hutchison
friday was a rough one for mom and baby, but the end result was a mircale we will not soon forget.
our evening on thursday began with robyn being poked four times trying to get the iv in her arm and then another getting her blood taken. (yes, ouch.) next up was about eight hours of backlabor and very little sleep for any concerned parties. robyn got an epidural around 9 am and proceeded to dilate from 4 to 8/8.5 cm by 11 am. the drs said we needed to wait until the little man dropped a little further before we could start pushing. well, by 5 pm, very little, if anything, changed, so they decided a ceasarian was the next option. the original epidural had worn off sufficiently by then, so robyn had to get another. (yes, ouch again). they wheeled her into or5 and proceeded to take the baby around 6:20 pm. about 1o mins later out popped little jacob. i got it all on tape. at 6:28, a 7 lbs 4 oz tike bursted onto the scene and robyn and i bursted into tears. words cannot express, as any new parent would tell you, the blessing we received to have the opportunity to raise our new son. God's love and trust is so magnificent to allow the two of us to bring up such an amazing child, and we could feel it.
we got him up to the room and mom, after refueling herself with some gatorade, began to nurse him. and did he ever know what he was doing. after such a rough 24 hrs, seeing him feed with such ease was to us a terrific end to june 17, 2005.
unfortunately, b/c we are on my work laptop at the hospital, we cannot post any pictures yet. however, as soon as we get home on monday or tuesday, we will allow you to feast your eyes on 2o 3/4 inches of mini-hutchison goodness.
bye for now.

We want pictures.... We got the ones that Jan sent and now have them as our background on our computer pages.. YOU ALL look very happy and a little bit tired. We love you lots and look forward to seeing Mom, Dad and little Jacob. He now has his own folder under my pictures just for his little pic's named "Jacob LeGrand" Love ya lots.
What I want to know is, can you love someone you've never even met?
I want pictures of your little superstar too! Don't be shy, now. Any false modesty and holding back of pictures will be unappreciated and unwelcomed in the extreme.
I love you, Robyn and Matt. You have both been so brave and strong and are so well-prepared to be good parents. Congratulations on your perfect little man.
Robyn, I am glad you think Matt is cute because that boy of yours looks just like his daddy. Most of our pictures of Jacob are a spitting image of Matt. Least it wasn't a girl. I love you guys!

Matt & Robyn, we are so happy for you guys... Hearing that baby Jacob had finally arrived gave our wedding rehearsal new meaning! We cannot wait to hold that little bundle from heaven - how blessed he is to have parents like you!
Love you,
Aunt Bev and the family
Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Can't wait to see pics. Hope Robyn is recovering.
