Messing

That's right. Jacob's become a messer.

He messes with Matt by mercilessly jumping on, pushing, and pinching Matt's stomach. He messes with me by pretending he doesn't like me. (That's awesome.) And he messes with Nicholas in every way one is capable of messing ALL DAY LONG.

What is messing, you ask?

Messing is, simply put, the act of pushing people's buttons. With brutal accuracy. Jacob is a master. If you don't like it when he does a certain thing (and you are fool enough to let him know it) he will do it again and again and again.

He's also adorable, sweet, brilliant and fun. But enough about that. Tonight I want the world to know that he messes with us all!

Poor Nicholas.

(Note Jacob's face. Ah the glee of messing.)

(Note Nico's bottom. Sometimes he tries to push his pants off. He never gets very far. My little crack baby.)

I have been wondering why there have been so many shots of Nico's gluteus maximus but now I know.

Jon just started singing "welcome to my world..." I know my kids don't "mess" like Jacob, but to a degree I believe all kids develop this fine art. Gideon is quite skilled at it...just ask my dog.

I love you, and believe it or not, Jacob loves you too. He loves you so much he knows you are one person he CAN mess with and you will still love him back. It's part of why they do it.

Kinda sick and twisted eh?

oh robyn. that is hilarious. but i do have some bad news. a real natural messer doesn't grow out of it. brent...such a messer. just ask all of his siblings. maybe it's an oldest child thing?

Ah, well, isn't that what little brothers are for anyway? I mean, you should have thought about it before you had boys. Just kidding. Jacob is just too smart for his own good. He'll grow into himself.
