Where's Aunt Merr-diff?

This week we enjoyed a visit from Meredith!

When I say enjoy, I mean enjoy. Truly, Meredith is such a wonderful houseguest! She wasn't afraid of domestic wildlife concerns, she helped me with EVERYTHING, and she was a delight to spend time with. Jacob, on the other hand, was not. He started sleeping poorly the day before she came and the grumpies were in full sway when she arrived. So, Meredith had to repeat the mantra, "Grumpy Jacob is better than no Jacob at all" a lot for the first couple o' days. He finally got nappin,' and subsequently smilin', and things were peachy.

Feast your eyes on the great and small happenings during Meredith's time in the ATL...

Jacob apparently went to clown school, because he woke up from a nap with a perfect red circle on his cheek.

Meredith celebrated her graduation with us, and with a german chocolate cake bedecked with a graduation bobble head doll that bore a striking resemblance to our own graduate! Check it.

Meredith and I went to a Braves game. We got to see the ill effects of alcohol on sports fans and we got to give a standing ovation to Mr. Julio Franco. Way to go Julio! We miss you. At least Robyn does.

Meredith learned how to do the "Tomahawk Chop" as the master (Matt) does it.

I got a really vacant look on my face and realized that I should probably consider whitening my teeth.

Jacob got progressively more cranky and we realized that it was possibly due to spot of constipation. So we broke out the lotion and gave him a massage, rubbed his tummy in a clockwise fashion (thanks Chelsea), gave him water, and plopped him in the bouncer for some "vibration therapy". Once things got moving he was MARKEDLY happier.

We went shopping and got Meredith some kickin' working girl outfits.

Mommy realized that the shorts she bought Jacob are really "longs".

We went to the Coke Museum.

By the end of the tour we were both desperate for a Co'cola and we definitely imbibed...as evidenced by the two very loopy videos below.

We lova da Coke. Or at least we ended up feeling so after all that sooooda (and shameless Coke propaganda that we paid $9 to go see). Thanks to Shayleen and Aaron for watching Jacob so we could go babyless.

We found out Jacob has a squeaky nose.

Jacob fell in love with Mere.

Meredith taught Jacob how to do the "Tomahawk Chop" and we finally tried (read: squeezed) this Andruw Jones 'fit on him.

Man, Jacob has no respect.

We realized that Jacob has a huge head and tiny feet.

All in all we had a wonderful time and Jacob loves his Aunt Merr-diff. Mommy loves her too. Thanks for such good times Mere. We miss you!

Ohhh, it looks like you girls and darling little boy had a fabulous time!!! Wow, what a way to celebrate and experience Atlanta for sure! I love it! You were an excellent hostess and did a fabulous job-I think I want to come back and visit too! :) hee hee.

I'm sooo glad Jacob is feeling much better and functioning better too! Wow, that's awesome that my 'trick/advice' worked, that is soo cool. Thank you, you are most welcomed for sure!!!

Now, is Auntie Mere from your side or Matt's side of the family? I could't figure it out. But it looks like overall the whole adventure was wonderful even if it was up and down a bit. How wonderful!

Oh I didn't have a chance to watch the videos but hopefully will tonight when we get our high speed internet installed! Thanks and hope you can still have fun now-I'm sure you will but its just not the same huh?!

Love, Chelsea

You are such a great host Robyn. I think that when I come to visit Atlanta, I'll stay with you because you know how to show the guests (that's what I'll be soon enough) around:) I'm glad Jacob got to nap while you two took shots of soda. I remember leaving that room of soda feeling a bit sick and gross with the sticky shoes and sugar coated teeth! It is fun though. We'll see you soon!

I laughed sooo hard watching your "tipsy" videos!
And good advice for solving constipation woes. I think lil' Henry needs some of that TLC. Funny the things you forget so quickly the second time around!

I've missed the blog this week, but I'm awfully glad you cousins could have a fun giggly time to-gether. Loved the videos!! Meredith looks like a movie star! Sure glad Jacob got feeling better and warmed up a bit. So looking forward to seeing him in a month. Plan some fun dates, because I'm all lined up to take good care of him for you. :}
