I feel it's kindof a wasted post if we don't post a picture of the boy too. This is from Jacob's first hairwashing. He well understood the concept of keeping his mouth closed to avoid getting soap in it. Smart boy. And (this time) he seemed to really enjoy the experience.
This was from his third mini-bath. He looks a little unsure here, and if I put another picture up of two minutes later you'd think we were torturing him. Unlucky for him his hair is so long at 2 weeks old that he'll have to submit to lots of this hateful treatment.
And here's the finished product. He's got some curls and we're hoping for more. Well, I am anyway.
Matt tells a story about when he was volunteering at a senior citizen's home and a little old lady asked him if his hair was naturally curly. He told her yes and she proceeded to turn to another volunteer and whisper in her loudest, old lady whisper, "it's a shame to see that curly hair wasted on a boy". Matt's curls aren't wasted on me, and Jacob's won't be either.
Also, the title of this post is in loving homage to Beadie, a nurse, who kept on saying this to/about Jacob. She also said "him a sugaboy" quite a bit too. And you know what? She's right.

i must say, that is one handsome baby. if they say he looks like his dad, his dad must be one good-looking dud, er, dude. and judging by the looks of the kid's mother (whose looks i know very well), he got his good looks from his dad, b/c his mom still has hers.

Matt that was not a very good anonymous posting.... you are right that the little sugaboy did get his looks from his daddy. The nut did not fall far from the tree. We love ya all... mommy, daddy and little sugaboy Jacob.
What a cutie! And you can just see the thougths behind those eyes! He is just about to take us all for a wonderful ride! Give a little squeeze to our little sugaboy and to sugamamma and sugadaddy.
Do you have a video or audio recording of Nurse Beadie? I would KILL to hear her say "him a sugaboy!" Cute as ever..
