It can only end in tears

Jacob's cord fell off last Thursday, as mentioned by Matt, and we bathed him for the first time on Saturday! (Once the funky left over cord stuff was gone.) It started out, as you can see, quite pleasantly. He seemed delighted with the "newborn sling" that held him snugly in the warm water. And he seemed very interested in the baby next to him. We thought we had hit the jackpot with this baby boy. No crying his first bath? Was it to be believed?

No, it wasn't. Once the scrubbing began the pleasantness was going,
going,

gone. Nothing, not even his lil' Rocky outfit could calm him. We love our boy, and hope that after all of the baths we're going to have to give him he'll still love us. Posted by Picasa

When Jacob thought he was posing for a center-fold, he was very happy. Little did he know you were not making a magazine, but had cleanliness in mind. We like how enamored he is with himself. That happened to me too, but it turned out to be Leland I was looking at.

He's a doll. He's pretty convincing in those crying pics. Looks like you guys are meanies. Later he will hold these pictures against you.

We love getting the new pictures, so we feel we know Jacob. You are a lucky family to have such a healthy, great boy.

What a funny little boy - fancy not enjoying a bath! It won't take long and he'll be doing the back stroke. Love that little sling thing. They ought to make adult ones like that - sort of like a hammock set up in the bath. Of course it would be nice to have a winch thing on the side that could get you out of the tub. That kind of thing really appeals to the over 50 set. \**/
Well give that little darling a hug and a kiss from us!

We love you all!!!xxxooo
