Aunt Bev gave Jacob this book when Nicholas was born. It quickly became his FAVORITE book ever. In it he has learned that tractors pull both balers and plows. He has also learned the difference between a stock car, grand prix car and rally car. And pretty much any big truck on the road is a monster truck to him. So, the book is wonderful and his favorite. And yet...
Jacob's first copy was peed on. (We'll spare you the details of how that happened.)
We bought a new book because we couldn't keep reading a sullied book and because Jacob loved it and because we spoil him rotten.
Jacob's second copy was thrown up on. (Again, less is more.)
What gives?

That is very weird that it would happen twice! Crazy!
I would definitely buy that book again. Jacob reminds me so much of Meredith some times. This book would have appealed to her too. Even the cover is a winner. Get rid of the barf and pee with a new copy!
Love to you all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
is there no disinfectant that can clean it and then allow it to dry? or is it literally destroyed by the barf and pee?? i'm of the opinion to use it up, wear it out, make it do ... but certainly NOT do without ... if need be, purchase again ... but i'd do everything possible to salvage! (create some memories!)
I think you should let Santa know that you want to give that truck book another try!
You've doubled the liability to that book because of having Nick, but I still think it's worth it. I can't refurbish anything if vomit and pee are involved!
The book is not cursed, it is well loved, and just happens to always be in the line of fire. Like our blankies. We just happen to be lucky that blankies go in the washing machine, books just wouldn't make it through the spin cycle!
